Shamanism is an ancient form of energy medicine.  Shamanic healing consists of a varied body of healing practices performed by the shaman to help heal another person.  Using methods and tools unique to specific cultures, the shaman promotes a three-way healing connection between the client, the shaman, and the universe of spirit. The shaman is able to connect with the spirit world through the act of journeying, or moving into different levels of consciousness.

 Symptoms of spirit attachment, power animal loss, or soul loss include excessive fear, inability to trust others, issues of low self-esteem, depression, fogginess and confusion, as well as chronic illness.  These issues relate directly to a lack of power and wholeness within the person.  In the shamanic worldview, power and maintaining health go hand in hand.  If the soul is restored and power-full, there is no room for illness, which is regarded as an invasive force.   The following individual sessions are designed to promote healing of body, mind, and spirit.

What are the types of individual shamanic treatments?

 Spirit Energy Releasement

This powerful energy session releases from the energy field anything that does not serve the body, mind, and spirit.  This includes releasement of negative thought constructs, energies, past-life traumas, traumas in this life, genetic imprints, as well as soul fragments that do not contribute to the well being of the individual.  A detailed and specific matrix of light is created and the client is put into light hypnotherapy.  I have the gift of being able to perceive and discern these intrusive forces and through this shamanic method am able to release them from the energy field to restore health and wholeness. 

  Power Animal Retrieval

We all have power animals - spirit animals - that are connected to us as protectors.  Many power animals are our spirit guardians that exist in other realms.  Power animals are usually a reflection of your deepest self and also represent qualities which you need in this world, but which are often hidden or obscured.   The shaman is trained to journey into a different level of consciousness to locate the power animal.  Shamanism asserts that a person whose animal is not present within his or her field often experiences feelings of confusion and loss as well as symptoms of disease.  Once found, the animal is returned to the client’s energy field in order for the client to integrate the power into the body, mind, and spirit. 

 Soul Retrieval

Soul loss is a spiritual illness that causes emotional and physical disease. We spend a tremendous amount of psychic energy looking for lost parts of ourselves. We do this unconsciously, and we do this in many ways:  generating dreams and daydreams, experimenting with numerous spiritual paths, and creating relationships that mirror back to us our missing parts, to name but a few. Many of us today don't feel totally whole, and few of us live as fully as we could.

     Soul Retrieval in shamanism is a well known and effective practice to restore a person’s life force.  The shaman journeys for the client to locate missing soul parts—pieces of the individual’s soul that have been taken, lost, or given up.  The loss of life force is known as soul loss, and this can take place when we suffer a trauma, childhood abuse, have an accident, experience strong emotional difficulties, are separated from a partner, suffer the death of a loved one, and so on.  Often we split off parts of ourselves to stay present during these situations.    The shaman is trained to journey into different levels of consciousness to locate these parts and to return these parts into the body, mind, and spirit of the client.  The shaman will explain after the retrieval what parts were returned so that the client can meditate and integrate these parts. 

Soul Retrieval focuses on the return and integration of the lost life-force, rather than on the original trauma itself.  The healing session provides powerful life changes.

What is a typical session like?

The client, remaining fully clothed, lies on his or her back on a massage table during the power animal and soul retrieval treatments. Using drumming music, the shaman journeys into different levels of consciousness on behalf of the client to retrieve the power animal and return it to the individual or to retrieve missing parts of the person's soul and to return them fully to the individual.  The returned power is completely described and the client connects fully with the retrieval. 

Through a Brazilian technique that is ritualistic and structured, the spirit releasement session requires that the person sit opposite the shaman and participate in the releasement process.  The shaman journeys and speaks through clairvoyant information to create and assist in the releasement.

Cynthia's Background

Cynthia Bischoff is a shaman, trained through the Michael Harner National Foundation of Shamanic Studies.  She has received extensive advanced shamanic training through D. Robinson, Shamanic Healer.  Cynthia studied shamanism in Ireland with Anam Spirit, topics such as "Energy of the land," "Sacred Sites," and "Creation of Natural Healing Tinctures."  Cynthia is a also a Reiki Master trained in the Usui Shiki Ryoho method.  In terms of lineage, she holds a position of being “third from Master Takata” who westernized Reiki in the U.S. 

Cynthia is a life coach and certified hypnotherapist who also holds an advanced certification in Breathwork from the School of Spiritual Psychology.  She holds additional certificates in varied alternative therapies:  a certificate of completion of 105 hours in Acupressure from the Cayce/Reilly School; advanced certificate of training in Bio-Energy from Mietek Wirkus; and a Medical Intuition Training Certificate from Caroline Myss, Ph.D., and Norm Shealy, M.D.  Her passion is to assist others in their transformation process.
