Reiki
(pronounced RAY- key)
is a natural Japanese healing art that
helps balance and activate one’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual
bodies. Reiki, which reduces stress and fatigue and serves in preventative
health maintenance, is a transformational tool for spiritual growth.
Reiki has been especially effective in
helping heal trauma from abuse and addictions.
Receiving the individual Reiki
attunements (or energy transfers from the Reiki Master) during the learning
of Reiki in the certification workshop helps clear your energy field.
The attunement activates what is innate within ourselves and returns us to
wholeness.
Reiki focuses on the
flow of the “universal life force energy” through one’s hands to balance the
body, mind, and spirit. It is administered through “laying on of hands” and
is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and
is what causes us to be alive. Reiki treats the whole person including
body, emotions, mind, and spirit and creates many beneficial effects
including relaxation and feelings of peace, security, and well-being.
Reiki is an amazingly
simple technique to learn, and the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the
usual sense. It is learned as the student receives a Reiki attunement by
the Reiki Master and then begins to work with specific hand placements on
others’ energy fields as well as one’s own. You may wish to learn Reiki to
work solely on yourself (if you are not interested in working on others).
The attunements you receive greatly enhance your ability to help heal
yourself.
Program Notes:
The program will
involve a day of energy work with participants learning the Reiki
techniques, receiving personal energy attunements from Cynthia, and
practicing Reiki treatments on each other. The program includes a $20 book,
as well as a light lunch and beverages. Upon completion, you will receive a
Reiki I Certificate.
Because the program is limited to only 5
people, individual attention is enhanced.

Background on Your Instructor:
Cynthia Bischoff
is a Reiki Master trained in the Usui
Shiki Ryoho method. In terms of lineage, she holds a position of being
“Third from Master Takata” who westernized Reiki in the U.S.
Cynthia also holds an
advanced certification in Breathwork from the School of Spiritual Psychology
and is a member of the International Breathwork Foundation. She holds
additional certificates in varied alternative therapies: a certificate of
completion of 105 hours in Acupressure from the Cayce/Reilly School of
Massotherapy; and an advanced certificate of training in Bio-Energy from
Mietek Wirkus in Bethesda. Cynthia also holds a certificate of
completion in Medical Intuition training (6-day intensive) with Caroline
Myss, Ph.D., and Norm Shealy, M.D.
Cynthia teaches in the
MBA program at Old Dominion University and was ranked three years in a row
as one of the top ten best
instructors in the nation.
Cynthia is an author of three books and has been a communications coach
since 1980. She is the developer of the popular
Leading from the Heart
women’s and men's programs. Highly intuitive, Cynthia is able to “see
energy” and receive “energetic readings” as she works with a person’s field
